not JUST JEWELLERY!

I started CAD with jewellery designing as my motive but with the power of 3D printing, I can make anything I want! Right!

So DRUM ROLLS PLEASE................

These are Tea light candle shades 3d printed in nylon ( only use with led flameless tea light candle).

When I think of a pattern/design, I ask myself that why am I limited to only jewellery!!! I see patterns on walls wherever I go and thought how can I add movement to them. Seems am obsessed with movement!!!! .................Not really!  My search is creating amazing patterns (inspired from my surroundings) and experimenting with different forms of movement and create an interplay of patterns. So playing with the FLICKERING movement of a candle, I am now making tea-light candle shades. STAY TUNED...........MORE TO COME!

Adding BLING!

Kinetic GEMSTONES.............BLing BLing!
Kinetic Pendant- 3d printed nylon, sterling silver tube rivets, CZ stone, waxed cotton cord

I always wanted to work with gemstones....HUGE gemstones! Well, finally I started working on it. The above image shows a kinetic pendant with 10mm cubic zirconia. As my concept, you can move the circles and wear this one pendant in varying styles. The challenging part is to make gemstone fit in the design & not take away from the design. This is my first pendant with gemstone. There's more to come!

2012 WRAP UP!

Like many other artists, it was my time to leave my routine job and start doing what I love! So knowing nothing about how to do a business and having a great passion for design, I started my Business "KINETIC PATTERNS"

Having full support of my parents and my loving husband, I did my first ROSE Street market in  April 2012. Apparently, I had no sale for first two markets but got to learn alot. Discussing with fellow Artisans and understanding what customer wants, I kept experimenting with my designs and understood the business concept.

There are many Artist Markets all over Australia for emerging designers like myself. One thing I learned from my experience from these markets is that you can never predict!   Sales depends on number of factors like the time of the year, people coming in, weather, location. So trying different markets in Melbourne, Sydney & Canberra gave me an insight to wider audience.

I did -YOUNG BLOOD DESIGNERS MARKET in Sydney on 27,28,29 July,
        - FINDERS KEEPRS in Melbourne on 19,20 October
        - HANDMADE MARKET in Canberra on 29,30 Sept & 8,9 Dec
        - Xmas Craft and Gift FAIR in Adelaide on 1,2 dec
        - NORTH MELBOURNE market on 14th dec
        - SISTER's MARKET in QV on 20,21 dec
and ROSE STREET MARKET almost every weekend.

Well, I have just started and apart from all the pain & stress, I received lot of appreciation for my work which made everything worthwhile.

So 2012 has ended and a new year has begun, all I want to say now is THANK YOU!
Thank you everyone for all the kind words and support. This makes me a proud ARTIST :-)
